A masculine stone

Here is stone 58, Alan's favourite stone, as seen from two different angles. It's getting quite tricky to photograph the stones of the inner circle now that the outer circle is more or less complete. This sarsen trilithon had to be hewn from not one or two but three pieces of card. A herculean effort on Alan's part I think you will agree.

Lizzie and I think you are doing a wonderul job and should be welcomed into our lodge of The Honourably Company of Cardboard Masons. Have you found the man with a shield on his back yet, or the deer's head without horns? When you have - and think big - I will personally induct you.

A herculean effort indeed, though perhaps a Boudiccan effort might bring the imagery closer to home (if not closer in time)! : )

I hope, in the time-honoured tradition, some of the hewing implements will be left in the hole for archaeologists to discover in 4000 years!

Well done!

The man with a shield on his back? The deer's head without horns? - Now you have piqued our curiosity! Soo is turning the model every which way under our photographic lamps to see if any weird combination of shape and shade gives such effects... perhaps we still need to make the remaining stones...
